New Year and a New Partnership
I am delighted to announce that I will be working with County Antrim Camogie for 2026 in a partnership that was agreed just before the Christmas break. For me this is an ideal arrangement as I hope to capture the team both with stills photography and on video. This work will involve creating video reels and other video content - which has been an area of learning and growth for me personally over the last two years. Hurling and Camogie are commonly described as the fastest field sport on the planet, so that in itself will be a challenge to capture video in vertical orientation that will keep the action in the centre of the frame. I am super excited to get started next month.
This will give me an opportunity to concentrate on one team over a season and help me to become more aware of GAA sports in general. It will of course mean that I need to reduce my involvement in some other sports that I have covered over the last few years, especially those sports where photo sales have been low or non-existent. While I love sports photography and videography I feel the need to develop my photography in other areas outside of sport, as my personal projects have taken a back seat over the last 5 years and that is something that I want to change. Specifically I will develop my wildlife and landscape photography, taking opportunities to travel more to capture landscape images from outside the UK and Ireland.
Over the last month I have been enjoying capturing the Northern Lights here in County Antrim, given our winter conditions this has involved driving all over County Antrim in search of a patch of clear sky to capture some of photographs of the night time light show. However Ballygally is always my go to location as the beach and slipway face north.
